I got home today around 6 and was welcomed by my dog and my niece Mylee. She ran up to me and gave me a big hug and she told me she missed me and that she loved me. When I hear her say that, it makes my day every time. We then colored hard boiled and blown out eggs. Now for the rest of this weekend I am going to be studying. I have three tests and two big projects I have to finish for this coming week. Then after this coming week, its finals week where I have four more big tests. I’m going to be hitting the books hard this weekend especially history and when I need a break from that I’ll be working on one of my two projects probably. I also have to make a million flashcards for all my extra derivatives for my CC 101 class. This week needs to go by fast but also I need to get a lot accomplished. My grades depend on it. This year has been tough for some reason and I’m ready for it to be over, but not until my grades are up. Hopefully I can get everything done in time!

Blog #13 open extra credit
This weekend I went home to visit my family. I haven't been home since Spring Break so it was a nice break. On Friday, we didn't do that much, just kind of caught up on everything. On Saturday, we went to go see "Hop" as a family. The movie was really cute and everyone seemed to enjoyed it. Then later that night I had to interview/talk with my niece Mylee, who's 3, for a project in my SPAA class, Language Development. I had to record her talking to me for 20-30 minutes and have 30 utterances which means 30 phrases-start to finish. Inside every utterances I have to count up the Morphemes. Morphemes are the single words inside the utterance, but if there is any form of plurality, past-tense, etc counts as another one. I also have to make a transcript of everything that is said. This is going to be tough because sometimes she just gets so excited that she starts talking gibberish. It'll definitely be interesting. This week I am going to busy finishing 3 projects, and study for 2 tests before finals even start.

Blog 12: open
This week has gone by pretty fast, but the next four weeks are going to be a killer. I have 3 big projects due here soon, three big history tests and two books to read, a couple quizzes and a test in CC 101 which is classical literature-word origin class which is awful and I wouldn’t recommend taking it if you’re not good with words, and then probably a few other quizzes in my other classes and then finals week. Next weekend and Easter weekend I’m going home and I’m pretty excited about that. I’m excited to see my niece and baby nephew who will be three months next weekend. I haven’t seen him since Spring Break, but even then I wasn’t able to see him that much because he had to go back to the hospital because he was having irregular breathing and an irregular heartbeat, but he’s perfectly healthy now. My niece is just a goof ball and I miss her like crazy. She’s three years old, but she acts like she’s a teenager, probably because she’s surrounded by them. She is very smart and mature for her age in our opinion. She has called me twice in the last weeks and every time it made my day. The first time she called my sister didn’t even know she did because she somehow figured out how to use the command button and said “call Kelcie”. She could literally stay on the phone forever and she doesn’t even have to be talking. I can’t wait to see her and the little man, so hopefully next week goes by just as fast as this one!

Blog #9: open
I finally remembered to do my blog this week. I don’t know why I always forget about it, but I do. This passed week has been stressful and this coming week will be to I’m afraid. Classes seem to be going well, but then when I look at my grades, they’re not. I feel like I’ve been on top everything and I always do my work, but it’s the tests. My anxiety kicks in because I know I have to do well in order to get my GPA up, but no matter how much I study, I still end up doing horrible. I’ve never done bad in school until this year and I haven’t been slacking off like I used to, so I don’t know what my problem is. I know the material, but it never shows. I think a lot of it is in my head, and all the pressure, but then I always act like nothings a big deal. I need to start spending more time in my books I guess, or finding new studying techniques. Otherwise I’m not going to be able to get in the program I want to get into.

This weekend I went up to Purdue for my best friends birthday which is this Monday, Valentine's Day. We had so much fun and probably gained twenty pounds in the process. everything we did, food was involved. On Saturday, I had a huge ham and bacon omelet and a huge plate of macaroni and cheese. It was demolished in probably fifteen minutes. Then for dinner I had BBQ wings and my own personal piece that was pretty big. Later that night I had three bags of cheetos, french fries, a double cheeseburger, and then madmush. Madmush is this amazing cheesy bread. We ordered a large and i probably ate half of it by myself. Then today, Sunday, we all shared loaded nachos and then for dinner we had salad, pizza, ham and cheese sandwiches, and stramboli from Arnis. Sue made brownies to for Molly's birthday, so of course i had to have some of that as well. So basically, this whole new years resolution isn't working for me.

Quindlen describes the two sides of the debate by saying some people such as the right-to-lifers who try and portray abortion rights as something that feminists thought up or the people who who support abortion rights are most comfortable with a monolithic position; however, she doesn't just see one side or the other anymore. Quindlen doesn't just think it should be the woman's choice if they want to abort the child because it's not convenient or any other personal reason. I feel as if Quindlen still hasn't made a full decision on what she fully believes because she can pull out pros and cons for both sides easily.
An issue that in a way is connected to abortion is adoption. If I had to write an essay over adoption I'd see pros and cons for both ways too. I can see how adoption is great and it gives people who aren't capable for having their children still experience parenthood and the child getting a chance at a better life. However, a young mother choosing to give their child away for adoption could end up causing emotional distress to them and then the child could also have a feeling of not being wanted by their birth mother for some reason and that too can cause distress, so how do you decide?

After reading the two letters in our books, ‘The Call to Write”, I think they both make valid points. In Darcy Peters letter she give personal examples how the Family Learning Center helps benefit her family. She has three children who attend the learning center and they all have shown a great deal of what they have learned and this is just one reason she wants the keep the program going. She wants other families to be able to experience the joy of having your kids surprise you with what they know in such little time. She also touches on how she doesn’t have a job and how her husband doesn’t have a stable job which means they can’t afford other schooling for their children right now and that’s why this program means so much to them. On the other hand, State Representative Marcus Boldt, makes some solid points, but in a very blunt way. He simply asks why she doesn’t have a job to help support her family if they are in a hurt for money to educate their children and how she’s going to give back to the program. Even though Boldt seemed very rude, his points make sense. If you want a program to continue, you have to be able to give back to so it can keep growing and helping other families.
